Mark Hunter told Yahoo Lifestyle that “We all agreed to list [the Flocked Bullseye Ooshie] on eBay and get a couple of hundred dollars for it.”
“I didn’t know what it was actually going to sell for, but then it skyrocketed.”
Once the auction finished, with final bids exceeding $100 million, Mark said that the winning bidder immediately lodged a cancellation, leaving Mark with no sale and no money.
In a private message to Mark, the highest bidder said, “I apologise for the inconvenience of the troll bid.”
“I showed my workmates, and he jokingly placed the maximum bid prior to my knowledge.”
Instead of cashing in, Mark also discovered eBay now treated the farcical auction as a “sale” that used up his monthly selling limit, blocking him from relisting the rare Ooshie for 28 days.
